Ice Tour
Our lead guide Einar Rúnar Sigurðsson has been offering glacier hiking trips in southeast Iceland since spring 1994 so in 2024 will be 30 year anniversary of his Ice Tour. He will be you guide on this tour.
The tour is offered in winter months, so we usually have opportunity to check out an ice cave on the trip. We will be driving and then hiking through area that was until recently covered by glaciers, and on the glacier we will see many interesting glacier forms we will go into
The distance we hike on the glacier itself is usually 2-3 km and there is some hiking to the car at the base of the glacier so total hiking distance is usually about 5 km. We don't recommend that people participate in this trip unless they can do this hike but if the trip is private we can also simply go a shorter distance, in shorter time, but note, the price will stay the same since we can not book another tour on the day.
The minimum age is 13 year old, but the same goes, if the trip is private, we can be flexible, but for glacier walk the kid has to have hiking boots that can take crampons, if we are to hike on glacier.

If you prefer a private tour send us an email to info@fromcoasttomountains.is and let us know the day you want to do the tour and how many you are. There is space for 1-6 passengers in our Land Rover Defender, the 4wd we use to go to the glacier.
We will confirm availability and if this is in long advance (not simply the next day) we will create a payment link for you to pay 50.000 ISK of the fee beforehand. The rest you can pay with card or cash when we do the trip.
Cancellation policy
We will keep 100% of the pre paid fee if trip is cancelled 1 day or less before the event
We will keep 50% of the pre paid fee if trip is cancelled 3 days or less before the event
We will keep 10% of the pre paid fee if trip is cancelled 14 days or less before the event
